Tooth loss can cause numerous health complications, and most adults during their life do end up losing a tooth for one reason or another. Complications may start with a decreased ability to effectively chew food, an alteration in your speech, and a change in the appearance of your smile. As time goes on, the structural void left by the missing tooth can cause the surrounding teeth to gradually drift out of their correct position, the muscles in your face to shift, and more. Fortunately, Dr. Patty Martin at Stone Creek Dental Care in Walla Walla can restore the full function and appearance of your mouth with a dental implant. This requires inserting a titanium dental implant into existing bone structure in the void where your tooth root initially was. Titanium is ideal for this as it will eventually fuse with the living bone tissues in the area. This will fully replicate the strength of the tooth’s original root. Dr. Martin will install the titanium implant in a single appointment to her office. You will need to be deeply sedated to maintain your comfort throughout the treatment which will require a friend or family member to drive you home while the sedative effect dissipates over the course of your day. Once the titanium implant has fully fused with the surrounding bone structure (which can take a period of months), Dr. Martin can start the process of fitting it with a custom made crown. We make our crowns in real time at our office with our Cerec machine. If you live in the Walla Walla Valley and you have recently lost a tooth, give us a call at 509-525-5902 to explore the dental restorations offered at Stone Creek Dental Care. |
